2nd Battle Of Midway

Here we have 3 F4F Wildcats of Blak Jack Squadron off the aircraft carrier Sicily during the second battle of Midway.
We can see here that the wild cats are engaged with a couple of US Navy aircraft (F-18 chasing and facing and an Intruder being chased) and 2 US Navy destroyers (One is sinking, no frikin der and the other on fire, again no frikin der)

History time class!

The second battle of Midway took place on June 12th 2005, a week after war was declared on the USA. In that week the Sicily Carrier Group joined up with the Cyprus and Malta Carrier Groups and headed to Midway (used as an airport for Serenity Air Ways and as a refuelling point for naval and commercial ships) to meet up with the Trojan Invasion Group so the could push on to Hawaii.

The yanks saw this coming and so dispatched a fleet to meet them at Midway.

At 10:08 the battle began with the US fleet firing a barrage of anti-ship missiles of which all were jammed by the Admiral Class Cruiser Guardian or shot down by automatic defences. At that point all fighters, dive bombers and torpedo bombers were launched as well as a Avenger equipped with a jamming pod, making all radar guided missiles useless.

Within an hour all A.F.T ships equipped with 16in guns could open fire on the US ships. this was done with great success, knocking out a great many enemy ships.

In the end the US Navy lost and were forced to retreat after losing 47 ships including the carrier USS John F. Kennedy, compared to the loss of 3 A.F.T ships due to bombs.

This battle meant that Hawaii was invaded and taken under control by the A.F.T not too long after.
